“My experience at the state capital was definitely life changing. I learned more there than I would on a regular school day. I saw and experienced things kids my age can’t and don’t do. That day I was able to stand in front of a senate meeting and see how everything works on a day-to-day basis. I was able to meet the state senator from Monterey and many other senators. I was also able to meet the Acting Lieutenant Governor and talk to her. She gave me a few encouraging words.”
