The 2nd Annual Comcast/NCGA Foundation Invitational was held  on October 24, 2008 at Harding Park GC, the site of the 2009 President's Cup. The tournament netted $50,000 to support deserving youth in Northern California.

The shamble format allowed every golfer to complete each hole with his or her own ball after the best tee shot was selected from the group. Winning teams included Nike Golf (overall), Comcast (gross) and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (net). In the true spirit of good sportsmanship, one of many core values the Foundation seeks to teach through the game of golf, the Nike Golf team chose to donate their prizes back to the Foundation. The Comcast team finished with a gross score of 66 while the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce team fired a 16-under-par 56 to win the net competition.

Comcast’s partnership with the growing Foundation enables the non-profit to increase its grant-making efforts while lending support to its Youth on Course golf access programs. With Comcast’s help, the NCGA Foundation can now ensure that any deserving youth in Northern California can play the game for the astonishing price of only $2.

Proceeds from the event benefit the NCGA Foundation’s Youth on Course initiative, which provides children with life skills and values training access to 80 golf courses throughout the region for an average fee of only $2.
