Youth On Course
The NCGA Foundation’s Youth on Course (YOC) initiative offers deserving youth across Northern California the opportunity to play some of the area’s best courses for just $5. The program provides kids affordable and accessible golf, clinics, competitive tournaments, internships and scholarships.
At a minimum, 90 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to funding Youth on Course programs in Northern California. Contributions help instill valuable life skills taught through golf, leading to the development of responsible, healthy, and productive youth. All donations to Youth on Course are tax deductible.
Having grown to more than 100 participating golf courses, the program was originally made possible by a generous gift to the NCGA Foundation from an anonymous donor in the San Francisco Bay-Area. The Foundation is subsidizing more than 60,000 rounds of golf for more than 9,000 deserving youth each year.
Youth on Course also offers participants NCGA memberships, which includes an official USGA Handicap. NCGA Membership cards will be given to all participating YOC youth. Members will receive their membership cards once they have completed their life skills training and paid their annual membership fees.
Students presenting their card to participating golf courses at specific times will be granted a discounted Youth on Course rate. The Foundation subsidizes the rounds that Youth on Course members play during these specified times.
In order to participate, members must complete a comprehensive life skills education program that teaches core values like responsibility, integrity, sportsmanship, patience, perseverance and honesty. Visit the How to Join section for more information on how to become a Youth on Course member.
